Mill Creek Water Quality Assessment
During 2008 and 2009 AquACo conducted water quality sampling in Mill Creek, an estuarine tidal creek in Hampstead North Carolina. The study was conducted for Mill Creek Waterway Restoration Inc., and Pender Watch and Conservancy. The purpose of the study was to aquire baseline water quality data in Mill Creek in anticipation of increased development in the upper watershed and to collect before and after water quality data during dredging activities in the lower areas of Mill Creek.
Town Creek Watershed Monitoring
AquACo designed and implemented a comprehensive water quality monitoring program in the upper Town Creek Watershed in Brunswick County, N.C. The baseline data collected in 2005-2006 will be used by the North Carolina Coastal Land Trust to assess the effect of conservation activities on water quality within Town Creek.
Oceana Marina Dredging Monitoring
AquACo monitored turbidity during the dredging of Oceana Marina in Carolina Beach, N.C., during 2005. Data from this project will be used by Oceana Marina to assess the efficacy of several best management practices being implemented.
